Observer Corps is a League of Women Voters initiative that is member-led by volunteers who attend local government meetings to take notes and report back to their League. The program's purpose is to encourage civic engagement by exercising your right to know what’s happening in your community. It promotes public trust in government, as well as transparency and accountability.
Based on member input, the LWVKKC Observer Corps will attend and observe meetings of Knox County Board of Education, Knoxville City Council, and Knox County Commission. You can find information about Knoxville's local government here.
