The Observer Corps is a

• Member-led, volunteer initative
• Attend meetings of local governing bodies
• Take notes
• Report back to League membership and the community 

Purpose: 

• Empower individuals to exercise their right to know
• Promote government transparency and accountability
• Makes democracy more accessible
• Encourages civic engagement 

Based on member input, the LWVKKC Observer Corps will attend and observe meetings of Knox County Board of Education, Knoxville City Council, and Knox County Commission.
