The Observer Corps is a
- Member-led, volunteer initative
- Attend meetings of local governing bodies
- Take notes
- Report back to League membership and the community
Purpose:
- Empower individuals to exercise their right to know
- Promote government transparency and accountability
- Makes democracy more accessible
- Encourages civic engagement
Based on member input, the LWVKKC Observer Corps will attend and observe meetings of Knox County Board of Education, Knoxville City Council, and Knox County Commission.
