Knoxville-Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission

The Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) is comprised of 15 members; seven members appointed by the Mayor of Knoxville and eight members appointed by the Knox County Executive and confirmed by the Local Government Planning Committee, Tennessee State Planning Office. Commissioners serve four-year staggered terms, without compensation.

MPC meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Assembly Room, City-County Building. Eight members constitute a quorum. The Commission's annual meeting is held in October of each year or as determined by the chair.

MPC also meets to review the monthly agenda the Tuesday preceding the monthly meeting in the small conference room of the city-county building at 11:45.
