Knoxville City Board of Zoning Appeals
The City Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is composed of five members nominated by the City Mayor and confirmed by City Council to each serve a term of five years.
The City BZA meets monthly on the third Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Small Assembly Room of the City County Building.
Pre-Agenda meetings are monthly on the third Thursday at 3 p.m. in Room 511 on the 5th floor of the City County Building.
The Board hears appeals of denials of building permits by the city's Building Inspections Department. An applicant can appeal the denial when the applicant can request a variance from zoning ordinance requirements or the denial represents an error in interpretation of City Code.
For agendas, minutes, and a meeting schedule, see the City BZA Webpage
